Happy Valley – Catherine’s new home

Catherine and her daughter had two main requests for her new home in Happy Valley, “I’d like a beautiful home that works with our block and it has to surround a pool!” Catherine’s dream was to build a four bedroom home with two private master suites connected to bathrooms/ensuites for her and her daughter. Living spaces that maximized the amazing 270 degree views and were large enough for Michaela to have a separate music / rumpus and a ‘open plan’ kitchen dining and living room connected to the deck and pool. The other two bedrooms and bathroom were for interstate/overseas guests.

Currently in planning assessment with the Onkaparinga Council, this project is the dream of both CBBC and the different community partners that they support and share their space with.

The aim of the project is to renovate and rebuild the secondary spaces, entries and storage areas to better serve those in the Christies Beach community, with a strong focus on families and those who are vulnerable.  While the auditorium is relatively new, the existing hall and connected rooms are from the original 60’s/70’s church. A small home on the western end (currently underutilized) and the original toilet block are both in desperately need to be demolished and replaced with better facilities.

The new design incorporates a renovation of the existing entry, hall and secondary rooms, new offices and counseling space, a new western wing for meetings of various sizes, toilets, a second entry, storage and a new kids playground.
